Charming 2-bedroom apartment in the heart of Alfama neighborhood, carefully restored to keep the original details and filled with personal touches, photographs and hints of the former family who inhabited it, giving an authentic Lisbon family experience. A tribute to our sweet neighbors, who lived here for generations (since the 19 century) and used to take care of us when our parents were working at the Flea Market.
Fernando is a tiny, but cozy and well- equipped apartment, with 2 typical balconies, and lots of natural light. The Tejo River can be also seen from the windows over the rooftops. Just picture yourself walking up with sunshine and the special and unique light of Lisbon!
Fernando apartment is situated in an old building (2nd floor), on a pedestrian medieval street, far enough from the busiest places. Here, most people know each other. Chat with our neighbors at the balcony, hang your washing and feel like a local!
Centrally located in Alfama- the oldest Lisbon neighborhood and the second oldest of Europe. You will just fall in love with Alfama’s lifestyle, labyrinth-like streets, and historical houses.

The neighborhood has everything you need: coffee-places, fado restaurants, supermarket. From here you can walk everywhere. It is close to the Tejo River where you can run/walk/cycle. It is also close to the famous and fun Flea Market, the historical S. Jorge Castle, and most of the tourist sites. Just a 5 minute walk to Santa Apolónia Metro/Train Station, and a 10 minute walk to downtown

As with most of Alfama’s typical apartments, expect to find little balconies and windows, small spaces without AC (we use heaters and fans), low ceilings /door frames (up to 1.90 m), thin floor and walls made of wood, and steep and narrow staircases (for example, 2 flights of stairs to reach the apartment/no elevator). There is no soundproof, we can hear both…birds singing and the lively neighborhood! We advise you to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper, comfortable shoes and to avoid heavy luggage.
