Alice is a tiny 2-bedroom apartment, filled with history and renovated with much love and detail. It is where Family lived for almost 20 year, our childhood’s simple Home, and a Tribute to our Mum, Alice.
A small, but cozy and well- equipped place, with 2 little balconies, ideal for travelers looking to experience the local life. Immerse yourself in our traditional lifestyle where children play on the streets, washing is put to dry from traditional lines out the windows, chat with your neighbors on the doorstep!
Mum`s sewing machine is the „Star“ of the house. At her sewing machine she made traditional bed linen which was sold at the Flea Market every Tuesday and Saturday. Don’t miss this vibrant market and the lovely garden „Botto Machado“ with its view to the
river.
Alice apartment is situated in an old building (1st floor), on a pedestrian medieval street, far enough from the busiest places. Here, most people know each other. Chat with our neighbors at the balcony, hang your washing and feel like a local!
Centrally located in Alfama- the oldest Lisbon neighborhood and the second oldest of Europe. You will just fall in love with Alfama’s lifestyle, labyrinth-like streets, and historical houses.
The neighborhood has everything you need: coffee-places, fado restaurants, supermarket. From here you can walk everywhere. It is close to the Tejo River where you can run/walk/cycle. It is also close to the famous and fun Flea Market, the historical S. Jorge Castle, and most of the tourist sites. Just a 5 minute walk to Santa Apolónia Metro/Train Station, and a 10 minute walk to downtown
In the apartment you will have all facilities at your disposal:
– Free Wifi.
– 1 Bedroom and a Double Bed (140×200).
– 1 Bedroom with a Bunk Bed (2 single beds with 90×200).
– 1 living and dining room with TV and and couch.
– 1 fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, fridge, toaster, tea maker, coffee machine, stove, oven & microwave.
– 1 bathroom with a shower.
– 2 little balconies with street view.

** portable eletric heaters for winter time / fans for summer time.
As with most of Graça ’s typical apartments, expect to find little balconies and windows, small spaces without AC (we use heaters and fans), thin floor and walls made of wood, and steep and narrow staircases (for example, 1 flight of stairs to reach the apartment/no elevator). There is no soundproof, we can hear both…birds singing and the lively neighborhood! We advise you to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper, comfortable shoes and to avoid heavy luggage.
